The life of Ben Jenson, co-inventor of the HPV vaccine, inspires future advancements

The achievements of University of Louisville professor A. Bennett "Ben" Jenson cannot be overstated.

The UofL James Graham Brown Cancer Center researcher died Dec. 23, 2019. He was one of three people credited with developing the first vaccine for human papillomavirus — the leading cause of cervical cancer.

His work has already helped extend the lives of people across the globe, and it will continue to inspire future advancements within the medical field, according to Dr. Jason Chesney, director of Brown Cancer Center.
