UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center and Shirley’s Way are partnering up for a weekly, virtual game of chance: Joker’s Wild. The event raises funds for both organizations, which will help benefit patients as they receive cancer treatment.
“We’ve had a lot of success in our Queen of Hearts game and we’re excited to partner with UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center on a new version of this game, Joker’s Wild,” states Mike Mulrooney, Chief Cancer Hater for Shirley’s Way and host of the virtual games. “It’s a unique fundraising event that we used to do in person and the pandemic brought us the opportunity to bring this experience virtually so even more people can be a part of it and we can raise more funds to support cancer patients.”
Funds going to the Brown Cancer Center will support patient care. Laura Jones, manager of the new SOAR On Loyd Family Wellness Program and the M. Krista Loyd Resource Center at Brown Cancer Center, said, “With these funds going toward our wellness resources and patient care, it can make a huge difference in the quality of life for our patients and will help reduce barriers to care.”
The drawing is every Wednesday at 6 p.m. on JokersWildLive.org . Tickets are $2 each and must be purchased ahead of time through the website.
